In honor of our troops and all those who fight for our freedom, Troop 179 in Kennewick is hosting a special troop meeting, “the Meaning of Memorial Day” on May 19 at 7pm. Troop 179 has several current and retired military parents and it their goal  to expose the Scouts to the real meaning of Memorial Day.  CW4 Gordon will present his slides from his tour flying helicopters in Afghanistan and MAJ Niesen will present slides from his tour in Iraq.  Both CW4 Gordon’s unit and MAJ Niesen’s unit lost Soldiers while serving so we will have a moment of observance in memorial for these Soldiers.

Refreshments will be served downstairs before the presentation begins promptly at 7:00 and should conclude by 8:30pm.  Questions? Call Michelle at 509-735-0327.  All Scouts, parents, families and leaders are invited to attend.
