Ink Cartridge Recycling Program

BOY SCOUTS ARE RECYCLING!

We are excited to start a new recycling program that will not only help our environment but also earn money for the Council.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Did you know that your old cell phone and the ink cartridge in your computer printer can be recycled?  Well they can, but unfortunately most are not.  In fact, over  500 million old cell phones and empty cartridges find their way into our nations landfills every year. We as Boy Scouts would like to do our part to change that.

WHO CAN HELP?

We have the prepaid envelops to mail the ink cartridges in at the Kennewick office.  If you or your unit are interested in participating contact us at by emailing us at ink_cartridge@bmcbsa.org or send your cartridges into the office.

HOW DO WE CONTRIBUTE?

It’s easy to do. Take that old cell phone out of the drawer and when it is time to replace that ink cartridge, don’t throw them away , just bring them to our office!  Once they are sent in they are recycled and the council receives a check every month for cell phones and cartridges turned in. It is a great way for the council to earn extra funds without asking for donations from parents!!!  If you have laser cartridges , they can be turned in also. It’s that easy to help reduce solid waste in our landfills and earn money for the council!    Thanks in advance for helping with this project.
