Are you looking for the ultimate high adventure experience?  Well this is no ordinary camping trip!  You will enjoy 13 days at the BSA's premier High Adventure base, the world famous 137,000 acre Philmont Scout Ranch , including 11 days of backpacking the beautiful trails of the Rocky Mountains.  Exploring mines, horseback riding, fishing, rock climbing, fur trapping, archeology, burro packing, and climbing mountains up to 12,000 feet tall are just a few of the things you'll experience!

Those of us in the Northwest often ask "Why should we go to those mountains when we have our own?"  Anyone who has ever been there can answer that, but there is a lot more to Philmont than just hiking in the mountains.

If you have Scouts who are at least 14 years of age by September 1, 2011 and who are interested in attending Philmont next summer, contact Mark Griffin at the Council Service Center for more information.  Adult leaders are also needed!  Costs include the 13 day backpacking adventure of a lifetime, plus food and transportation.  The payment schedule will be established as soon as fees are set.  The 2011 Philmont fee is $725.00 per participant.  Transportation and incidentals are typically close to $600.00 or more.  The $100 deposit (transferable but not refundable) is required with the application.  Anyone on the waiting list will swap spots with anyone one month or more delinquent in their payments.

This is the one you have been waiting for!  If you are ready for the adventure of a lifetime, download an application TODAY and send it with your $100 deposit to:
