Leader Training



Basic Leader Classes

Leaders are encouraged to take basic training.  Basic training can usually be done in a fairly short amount of time.

On-Line Training

On-line Training is available for all leaders.  Get your Youth Protection Training here as well supplemental training such as Hazardous Weather Safety.

New Leaders can take the Fast Start Training before their traditional class to help prepare them for the class.

You will be asked to input your BSA membership number.  If you do not know this, please give the office a call at (509) 735-7306.

Supplemental Training:

Bighorn

   Tentatively scheduled for 4/18/09

Bighorn is supplemental and ongoing training.  You still need to attend the basic training courses listed above to be rated as a TRAINED Scout leader.  Bighorn provides continuing education to help you put the FUN in your Scouting program.


Woodbadge


This course teaches participants the basics of listening, communicating, valuing people, team development, situational leadership, problem solving, and managing conflict.
