The Western Region of the Boy Scouts of America will award its highest honor for volunteer service – the Silver Antelope – to Randy Price.

Randy has served and/or given leadership to regional camp schools, course director conferences, and other regional training; and national council activities such as Philmont training, Jamborees, and national training committees.  He was a member of the 2007 World Jamboree staff. He has served our council in many ways including as our Junior Leader Training course director and our 2006 Wood Badge course director.

The award will be presented at the National Council Meeting of the Boy Scouts of America on May 22 in San Diego, California.

There are over a quarter of a million  volunteers in the Western Region, and only 10-12 of these awards are presented each year, but Randy is the seventh recipient of this rare award in the Blue Mountain Council.  The other recipients are Dr. Ralph Stevens (1949), Dr. Eldon Grable (1984), Harold Heacock (1994), Mary Ann Price (2003), Robert H. Purcell (2005), and Joel A. Eacker (2007).

Please join me in congratulating Randy and Mary Ann for this much deserved honor.
